Book II: SHAARA OF ALTAR

A powerful second book that deepens the emotional and political stakes

"Shaara of Altar takes everything that worked in the first book and raises it to a new level. The tensions between Shaara’s personal identity and her role within the alien world of Altar are gripping. K.S. Riggin expertly balances intimate emotional conflict with grand interstellar diplomacy. I couldn’t stop reading."

Alien politics and spiritual evolution what a combo!

"This book is an incredible blend of sci-fi world-building and deep spiritual introspection. The Altarans are beautifully imagined, and the societal structures they uphold are complex and thought-provoking. Shaara’s role as a former captive turned key political figure is both heartbreaking and inspiring."

Shaara shines even in the darkest moments

"Riggin creates such a nuanced protagonist in Shaara one who is constantly challenged by loyalty, love, trauma, and power. Her development in Shaara of Altar feels earned and real. I was especially moved by how the story handles grief, trust, and resilience in the face of alien customs."

A richly layered sci-fi novel with heart

"If you like your science fiction character-driven with philosophical and moral complexity, Shaara of Altar is a must-read. There are no easy answers in this story just beautifully written questions and a heroine doing her best to answer them. This is not just space drama, it’s soul drama."

K.S. Riggin is building something remarkable

"This second installment proves that Riggin is in full control of her craft. The dialogue, the emotional weight, the exploration of memory and identity it’s all beautifully done. The scenes between Shaara and Shaarvan are charged with tension, mystery, and aching hope."

Book III: SHAARA OF FREINANA

"This book lingers with you. The emotional undercurrents and moral complexity set it apart from typical sci-fi. Riggin’s writing is both poetic and piercing."

BreeBaby91

"This book??? INSANE. Shaara of Freinana is a rich and introspective entry in the Shaarvan series, offering a deep dive into themes of faith, choice, and destiny. K.S. Riggin continues to impress with her lyrical, thought-provoking prose that flows like a meditation on love, purpose, and transformation. In this installment, Shaara’s internal journey takes center stage, and it’s a beautiful one. Her interactions with Thal and Shaarvan are layered with tension, longing, and unspoken truths, while her spiritual growth is handled with grace and nuance. The book invites readers to reflect on their own beliefs without ever being preachy, and Riggin’s ability to balance complex philosophy with emotional storytelling is masterful. For readers who crave science fiction with a deeply human and spiritual core, Shaara of Freinana is a must-read."

PlanetMamaTiff

Book IV: SHAARA OF WESTLA

It broke me in the best way.

"Ok… why is this series so dang addictive?? This book hit me in the heart. I wasn’t expecting Shaara of Westla to go so deep emotionally—but it did. Shaara’s vulnerability, her regrets, and the choices she has to make as a mother and leader feel painfully real, even in a sci-fi setting. I cried. I cheered. I thought about my own life. That’s how powerful Riggin’s writing is."

SammyJStorm

Riggin writes people, not just characters.

"There’s something really human in the way K.S. Riggin writes. The world is strange and vast, but the emotions are familiar grief, love, longing, regret. Shaara’s struggle with her past and her children was incredibly moving. This is character-driven sci-fi done right."

MoeFromMars

"I picked this up without reading the whole series (I’ll be going back now!) and was blown away. It reads more like a spiritual journey than a typical science fiction novel. Honest, raw, and beautifully written."

BookwormTasha

"I love how flawed and real Shaara is. She’s been through so much, and she doesn’t always make the right choices—but she never gives up. That’s what makes her such a powerful character. I didn’t just read this book—I felt it."

Chaz_420

"Yooooo this book crazy. This one isn’t loud or flashy, but it stays with you. Shaara of Westla is about healing, growth, and facing the parts of yourself you’ve tried to hide. It felt deeply personal. If you’ve ever had to rebuild after a loss, you’ll see yourself in this book."

Mimi_Giggles

Book V: BEGINNINGS AND ENDINGS

"K.S. Riggin has an incredible gift for weaving emotion and spirituality into her science fiction. Shaara of the Light is perhaps the most moving installment yet. It’s not just about powers or galactic politics it’s about healing, forgiveness, and becoming who you were meant to be. I couldn’t put it down."

BookAddict_Tonyy

"From the very beginning, this book felt different. There’s a softness to the writing even in the midst of conflict. Shaara’s journey here feels like a true reckoning—with her past, with her power, and with her purpose. I loved every minute of it. If you’re already a fan of the series, this one will hit you right in the soul."

Aliyah.DramaQueen

"Man I ain’t even know what to say. This whole book was like an emotional rollercoaster that ran me over. Riggin's prose pulls you into the depths of Shaara's mind and heart. The light metaphor throughout is powerful, it’s about more than glowing skin or energy; it’s about truth, sacrifice, and inner peace. Highly recommended!"

JoshFromSaturn

"It is a story for anyone who’s ever struggled with identity or loss. The pacing is smooth, the characters are layered, and the themes resonate long after the final page. This is what I call soulful science fiction. The drama is SPACE OPERA A+"

Cece_SpacePrincess

"The spiritual weight of this book is immense, but never overwhelming. It offers hope, even in its darkest moments. Riggin’s ability to explore complex inner worlds while maintaining a compelling sci-fi narrative is truly one of a kind. I’m so glad I found this series."

NerdyByNature777

Book VI: SHAARA THE PRIESTESS

"K.S. Riggin takes high-concept sci-fi and gives it a mystical, deeply emotional twist. Shaara’s role as a priestess among alien societies feels both ancient and futuristic. The cultural world-building around the Freinan and Naphal is incredibly rich. It’s like reading Dune meets The Left Hand of Darkness but with more heart."

NickyWithTheFeels

"This book goes beyond the usual alien story. Shaara is being a bridge between civilizations, faiths, and identities. The alien rituals, the ancient priesthood, and the spiritual overtones made this a mesmerizing read. Every chapter felt like a vision quest through space and soul."

LunaLouLoony

"The alien characters in this book are deeply memorable. But what really stands out is how Riggin handles spiritual awakening alongside interstellar politics. Shaara is not just a character; she’s a movement. This is science fiction with depth, ideal for readers who love thoughtful, layered storytelling."

2Chaotic4This

"From floating ships to sacred robes, everything in Shaara the Priestess feels otherworldly and yet the emotional truth hits close to home. Shaara’s journey is one of faith, identity, and reconnection. The alien hierarchies and language of devotion are so immersive, I felt like I was living it."

BookJunkieBenji

"The spiritual weight of this book is immense, but never overwhelming. It offers hope, even in its darkest moments. Riggin’s ability to explore complex inner worlds while maintaining a compelling sci-fi narrative is truly one of a kind. I’m so glad I found this series."

Book VII: NO LONGER SHAARA OF SHAARVAN

An Epic Sci-Fi Journey with Depth and Emotion

"K.S. Riggin delivers again with No Longer Shaara of Shaarvan. This sixth installment in the Shaarvan Series is a beautiful blend of space opera, romance, and deep character evolution. Shaara’s emotional conflict, caught between duty and love, adds such raw humanity to this otherworldly narrative. The world-building remains top-notch, and the moral and political complexity keeps the pages turning. Highly recommended for fans of character-driven science fiction."

Lexxie_GalaxyVibes

Captivating and Emotionally Charged

"This book grabbed me from page one and never let go. Shaara is one of the most compelling sci-fi heroines I’ve read, strong, flawed, and deeply relatable. K.S. Riggin masterfully explores themes of love, autonomy, loyalty, and identity against a richly detailed interstellar backdrop. The emotional push-pull between Shaarvan and Thal adds heartbreaking tension. A stunning continuation of the series."

Jamal da Bookworm

Rich World-Building and Complex Characters

"Riggin has crafted a universe that feels real, lived-in, and emotionally charged. The politics of Altar, the mysticism of the Shapechanger, and the clash between duty and desire all make for a layered and unforgettable story. As always, Riggin's gift for internal dialogue and emotional nuance shines through. Sci-fi lovers who enjoy interpersonal drama with high stakes will not be disappointed."

TamiInSpace

A Powerful Exploration of Love and Loss

"What makes No Longer Shaara of Shaarvan stand out is how deeply it examines the human (and Shapechanger) experience. It’s not just about galactic war or shape-shifting warriors, it’s about memory, motherhood, and identity. Shaara’s journey is heartbreaking and triumphant in equal measure. Riggin writes with wisdom, wit, and compassion."

SciFi with a Soul

"Ok but hear me out — this book is like soap opera in SPACE with hot aliens and shape-shifty politics. This isn't just another space saga. It's a story with emotional gravity. K.S. Riggin’s storytelling is beautifully balanced—sci-fi tech and alien worlds coexist with human heartache and romantic longing. The dreamlike connections between Shaara and Shaarvan are haunting and poetic. Readers of Anne McCaffrey, Lois McMaster Bujold, or even Octavia Butler will feel right at home here."

Mattie Masters Smith

This book made me fist-pump on a bus.

“I was three pages in when I yelled, ‘YES, MATTIE!’ loud enough to scare an old man with a newspaper. I regret nothing. I haven’t felt this inspired since I tried to start a neighborhood moon colony
(it did not go well).”

Lawrence Powell

A space-fueled hug for the girl I used to be.

"I once wanted to be an astronaut until I learned I got motion sick in elevators. But Mattie? She’s got more guts than I have pie recipes, and I have a lot of pie recipes. I laughed, I cried, I high-fived my cat.
Read this book."

Arthur Price

I tried to build a cardboard spaceship after finishing this.

"My dad says I’ve never read a book without complaining. Well, guess what? I read Mattie Masters Smith TWICE. I now address everyone in the house as ‘Captain’ and I demand freeze-dried ice cream. This book rules."

Bruce Long

A delightfully rebellious heart in zero gravity.

"Mattie reminds me of myself—if I had been gutsier, sassier, and had an uncle who literally rockets through the cosmos. Also, any book that includes daffodil theft and interstellar injustice? Yes, please."

Logan Reed

I am emotionally compromised by a fictional child.

"I thought I was just picking this up because my niece wanted to ‘read something space-y together.’ Now I’m writing letters to imaginary space boards and rooting harder for Mattie than I do for my football team. And I really love football."

Billy Cooper

This book is like a peanut butter and pickle sandwich: weird, bold, and strangely unforgettable.

"Mattie is the space nerd revolutionary we need. Also, justice for the daffodils.
That's all I’m saying."

K.S. Riggin's "Mattie Masters Smith" is such an inspiring book as we follow Mattie, who dreams to be a spaceship captain. Mattie is such a great heroine, despite being young, she showed determination and passion to be a captain despite people telling her it wasn't possible. The entire book was fun, there were a lot of funny moments, inspiring moments, and it really shows you that if you're determined to do something, nothing is going to stop you from chasing your dreams. Definitely a must-read if you're a big fan of space-y reads and following your dreams.

The Horse At Kookletown

Heartfelt Adventure with a Unique Twist

“WOW! I couldn't put this book down. The plot is so original, combining space travel with a Wild West show. The agony both physical and emotional of the main character pulls you in, and the horse Charlie well, he's no ordinary animal, that's for sure. The level of love between man and animal is expertly handled. The twists in the plot keep you guessing with surprises that seem both surprising and inevitable. I highly recommend this for anyone who enjoys a combination of sci-fi, adventure, and a dash of the weird.”

This book has humor, heart, and a touch of mystery. It's ideal for readers who like complex characters and a plot that keeps you guessing. The ending had me thinking about it long after I finished."

"The Horse at Kookletown is an absolute gem! The book is full of action, humor, and just a touch of sci-fi oddness. The characters are complex, and the way the author portrays the protagonist's connection to the horse is truly so heartfelt. Charlie isn't merely a horse he's a character unto himself. If you like an offbeat, emotional journey that deals with loss, survival, and odd connections, you've got to read this."

Sean Martinez

A Heartwarming and Thrilling Story with Humor and Heart

"Never have I been so engrossed by a horse! Charlie isn't just a ride she's an integral component of this compelling narrative. From beginning to end, I was cheering for the main character as he works through his physical wounds as well as his emotional regrets. The sci-fi aspects give the Wild West feel a unique spin, and it's something really amazing. And the exchanges with the androids had me wondering what it really means to be alive without actually being alive. A richly textured read that juggles emotion, humor, and suspense."

Carl Murphy

A Heartwarming and Wildly Original Journey

"I loved this book so much! It's got all the things heart, humor, and an adventure that takes you somewhere you didn't expect to go. The path of the main character through loss and physical rehabilitation, combined with the odd but lovable horse, Charlie, creates such a special reading experience. A Surprising Journey of Recovery and Friendship

"This book sent me on an emotional rollercoaster! The combination of sci-fi and Western elements is so interesting, and the complicated bond between the hero and the horse Charlie is wonderful. You totally sense the agony and recovery he experiences. The dialogue between characters, particularly the androids, provides an added depth to the narrative. It's a story of healing, discovery, and unexpected friendships. Highly recommend it to anyone seeking a story that is both heartwarming and unorthodox."

Jordan Stewart

An Offbeat and Unforgettable Story with a Gold Heart

"Where do I begin This book was a total gem! The combination of space travel, western environment, and rich emotional themes was so original and well done. I was captivated by the hero's suffering, his bravery, and, naturally, his relationship with Charlie the horse. The writing is raw in a way that makes the emotional scenes land harder, but it's tempered by the humor and offbeat sci-fi elements. If you enjoy a good tale that combines adventure and introspection, this one's for you!"

Jesse Ramirez

A Wonderful Mixture of Emotive Drama and Sci-Fi Thrills

"The Horse at Kookletown is such a wonderful surprise! It kept me on the edge of my seat from the very first page. The way the author combines the toughness of the Wild West with the advanced technology of space travel is incredible. But what really made the story work for me was the emotional resonance of both the protagonist's fight to get over his trauma and the special bond he forms with his horse. It's not merely a sci-fi novel; it's a very human one. I adored every second of it! ❤️"
